I started taking a different medication in an attempt to get on top of my pain after my surgery. Let's just say that the last month or so have been h#@! and my new doctor has been so good and not against trying different things. So we are shaking things up and trying a different kind of pain med which usually isn't used for sinus pain. I feel like a new woman and am so glad that it is working but Holy Cow! the side effects are making me Cookoo!
Side Effect #1 Numbness and Tingling Check! I feel like pins and needles and poking me in the face and sometimes my hands or my leg will go numb
.Side Effect #2 Fatigue Ummm...I wish! I was up at 5:30 this morning. My steriods keep me up until I take my sleeping pill at night and up early in the morning. Not feeling this one.
Side Effect #3 Taste Change Oh this is a sad day. I love my Mountain Dew. I love my Mountain Dew. No really, I love my Mountain Dew with my lunch. I crave it and watch the clock. I don't let myself have more than one a day and when the clock strikes 12, I get my glass and fill it with crushed ice and get my one can out of the pantry and pour it in my glass. Oh it is so good. Well Saturday, it didn't taste good and I was sure it was just a fluke. Then on Sunday it tasted horrible...oh it is a sad, sad day.
Side Effect #4 Weight Loss OK...Again with the Steroids weight gain is a negative side effect so let's cross our fingers...
Side Effect #5 Difficulty with concentration/attention and difficulty with memory "Has anyone seen my checkbook?
Did I take my pill or not? What was I talking about? I don't think I should be driving." Yesterday I stop to buy some material and it was minke. I get out to my car and lay it on my seat and think to myself "geez, that's messy, why didn't they give me a bag? MAYBE BECAUSE I DIDN'T PAY FOR IT!!!!" "AHHHH!!!!"
One more side effect that wasn't on the 'official' list, is clumsiness. I'm walking down my stairs on Sunday morning all dressed up ready for church and step off the side of my stairs and those of you who know my stairs, know how they drop off on the last three steps, well, I just fall right on my knees like a clutz right in front of my BIL and SIL and tried not to cry so all I could do was laugh but my knees tell a different story.
