My nose job

Hopefully the 3rd time is a charm. After a few months of pain and pressure, we went to see Dr. Capener and he gave me the bad news. Another surgery was inevitable. I didn't want to believe that this was my life and so I went to see Dr. Baker for a second opinion and he confirmed what Dr. Capener said. So it was back under the knife. I just had surgery in September and I was about 4 months recovering. I mean like 4 months until I felt like my old self and was not on any medication. So then I had about 1 month where I was exercising again, lost my steroid weight, and felt really good. Then it started over...I was trying to be aggressive this time too. I was irrigating my sinuses twice a day (not with sprinkler pipe) and taking all the known medicines to help prevent polyps from forming again. But it was not helping. So I'm a little discouraged this go around. They told me that I would probably need surgery again but that maybe they can lengthen the time inbetween. I'm hoping for more than a month this time. Actually, I'm really hoping for a summer without pain and pressure and no drugs. Is that too much to ask?
Has anyone heard of a sinus transplant? Do they do that procedure in this country? Sounds risky. For now, I'll stick to drowning myself daily and my steroids I guess. My mom has been here taking care of me. It's probably good she only had one daughter. That wa I don't have to share her. This is the 4th time she's come to Driggs to care for me in the last 3 years. Maybe we could add on an extra room for her to move in. I wouldn't mind that, my dad might though. He could come visit on weekends.

Clown School

Come celebrate Indee's 6th birthday at Clown School! The kids made their own clown hats. Indee is sporting hers.

My clown helpers...I'm so glad I have these older girls to help and make life more fun for Indee!

This is what we handed out in our gift bags, she's missing her nose.

Walking a tight rope. I'm not posting a picture of my pathetic clown cake. It always looks so easy in the picture and then I try to make it and it never turns out (every birthday, every year this happens!) They should make you take a cake decorating class when you check out of the hospital with your first baby.

Scrap Heaven

I went to Island Park with some of my scrapping friends and we had a great time. We didn't leave the cabin for 2 days. No distractions. I didn't even have a cel phone so my family couldn't call me a hundred times. We got so much done and had a lot of good conversations. I think we solved all the world's problems...ok maybe not, but maybe a few of our own.

Look at this organized chaos.

Holy Cow! The Road...

Has anyone read this? It scared the beejeebee's out of me. What was Oprah thinking recommending it for her book club? Pen was reading it with her book club so I jumped on the band wagon. We were gone for Spring Break and she emailed me :

Subject Line: The Road

"Okay don't get it don't read it. It is very depressing and sad. I will have to tell you what it is about but I don't reallylike it. I can see how it is good and all but very sad" (exact words)

So of course I'm curious and have to read it now. But the second night I was reading it, I got scared and had to tell Chad to come to bed early, then I woke up in the night thinking about it and couldn't go back to sleep and I kept singing "I am a Child of God" in my head.

So, has anyone read it? What did you think? I think I'll go stock up on food storage now.

Now I'm wondering what we should read next...anyone suggestions?

Coach Williams and his girls

Chad coached both Sicilee and Haddi's team. They just finished up. I think Chad has resigned himself to coaching girls basketball.
Check out how tall this girl is. For any of you who know her, it's Kristi Kaufman's daughter (she was an O'sullivan from Monteview). She's so tall and poor Sis had to be on the other side of her.
Again, here is Sabrina Kaufman. Good luck getting that one off, Sis. You better pass.
Haddi had a great game to end the season. I think she had 8 points and they were all left handed lay-ups.

"Happy To-To my Say-Say"

Sicilee turned 11 last week and I'm finally posting some pictures. When Haddi was 3 years old and Sis was turning 5, Haddi went around singing "Happy To-To my Say-Say" (Happy birthday my Sissy). Anyway, it stuck and not a birthday goes by that we don't take a trip down memory lane and say that phrase a few times.

Sis is a project girl and loves to go in my craft room and "craft". She is into scrapping and she got a new scrapbook and supplies.

Show me the money! For her birthday, she wanted to get her ears pierced (again, but that is another post) and hang out at the mall with her friends and then eat at Chuck-O-Rama, her favorite. She got money from her Gma Jan to spend at the mall.

Sis and her friends. They loved hanging out at the mall.
I hope you had a happy to-to Sis!
